This section consists of Database Things and fields description for every thing which is part of the template.

Introduction

To get to the Data section, click the database icon on the left side tabs in Bubble Editor.

Data Types

Note: In case you have accidentally deleted a data type - no worries! Bubble lets you restore💪the deleted data type. Clicking on 'show deleted types' or 'show deleted fields' from the Data → Data types tab will reveal the deleted items, and a 'restore' button will appear next to each deleted entry. Simply click 'restore', to restore a field or data type.

Tip: Aside from the below-listed data types and fields, Bubble creates these default fields visible in each data type: Creator, Modified Date, Created Date and Slug, except for the User data type. The User data type will have the following fields: email, Modified Date, Created Date and Slug. These fields' values can be used in workflows, conditional formatting, etc. To learn more, see the Bubble manual.

Checklist​

This data type is used to store checklist values related to a dashboard.
It comes with fields listed below:
  • dashboard - Dashboard - The dashboard associated with this checklist.
  • item - text - This field stores the text of the checklist item.
  • delete_permission - yes / no - This field handles the visibility of the delete element for the checklist.
  • status - yes / no - This field handles the status completion of the checklist item.

Dashboard​

This data type holds the information of dashboards details (general or elements tabs): checklist, tasks and files. These fields can be added, viewed, or modified by users on the platform.
It comes with fields listed below:
  • checklist - List of Checklists - This stores the checklist related to a dashboard.
  • checklist_selected - yes / no - This field handles the dashboard checklist availability. When the user selects the checklist during dashboard creation, the value is set to yes.
  • file - List of Files - This field stores the files related to a dashboard.
  • file_selected - yes / no - When the user selects the photos & files during dashboard creation, the value is set to yes.
  • id - number - The ID of the dashboard.
  • delete_permission - yes / no - This field handles the visibility of the delete a dashboard icon, used in the element conditional tab. When dashboard value lock is yes, the delete icon is not visible.
  • name - text - This field stores title of a dashboard.
  • order - number - This field stores the order number of the dragged and dropped dashboard tabs.
  • task - List of Tasks - This field stores the tasks related to a dashboard.
  • task_selected - yes / no - This field handles the dashboard tasks availability. When the user selects the task during dashboard creation, the value is set to yes.
  • type - Dashboard_type - This field handles the dashboard_type for the associated dashboard.
  • user - User - This field stores email of the user who created the dashboard.

Dashboard​_type

This data type represents the type of the dashboard added ("general" or "elements").
It comes with fields listed below:
  • name - text - This field handles the title of the dashboard tab (there are 2 types of dashboards: General and Elements).

File​

This data type is used to store data related to images & links added to the dashboard.
It comes with fields listed below:
  • dashboard - Dashboard - The dashboard associated with this file.
  • link - text - URL address added to a dashboard.
  • delete_permission - yes / no - This field handles the visibility of the delete icon, used in the element conditional tab. When file value lock is yes, the delete icon is not visible.
  • photo - image - This field stores the image uploaded.

Inquiries​

This data type represents the inquiries addressed to the platform.
It comes with fields listed below:
  • email - text - This field stores the email address of the inquirer.
  • message - text - This field stores the text body for the message.
  • name - text - This field stores the name of the inquirer.

Portfolio​

This data type represents the portfolio section on index page.
It comes with fields listed below:
  • description - text - This field stores the description message.
  • image - image - This field stores the image.
  • link - text - This field stores the external URL address.
  • nameapp - text - This field stores the name of the app.
  • order - number - This field handles the order number of portfolio items.

Task​

This data type is used to store tasks added to a dashboard.
It comes with fields listed below:
  • dashboard - Dashboard - The dashboard associated with this task.
  • date - date - This field store the date and time set for the task.
  • delete_permission - yes / no - This field handles the visibility of the delete icon, used in the element conditional tab. When task value lock is yes, the delete icon is not visible.
  • taskname - text - This field stores the name of the task.

User

Bubble applications have a built-in User data type that acts like any type that is created in the database. For instance, you can modify a user, delete a user, list them in a repeating group, etc. To learn more, see Bubble manual.
It comes with fields listed below:
  • dashboard - List of Dashboards - This field handles the dashboards related to this user.
  • isAdmin - yes / no - Specifies if the user is an admin type.
  • name - text - This field stores the name of the user.
  • photo - image - This field stores the photo of the user.
